University Buildings

The Queen's Centre at Queen's University incorporates four separate buildings into one complex: the Varsity Building, Arena Building, Natatorium Building and Student Union Building. These will be the first LEED-certified buildings on the Queen's campus.  LEED Silver is being pursued as a minimum.

Rising to a total height of five storeys, Queen's Centre will house a new swimming pool, two gymnasia, ten racquet courts, five fitness and weight areas and student spaces. Morrison Hershfield is the LEED consultant to the construction manager, PCL Construction. A separate LEED consultant to the contractor ensures that those credits for which the contractor is responsible - construction waste management, recycled and regional materials, among others - are being suitably addressed.
