Internap Data Center Renovation
Design services were provided for the renovation of an existing 72, 000 sq ft data center in the Santa Clara San Francisco Bay area.  A 25,000 sq ft area for RAF equipment was required in order to accommodate a new tenant’s necessary collocation web hosting.  Our services included architectural, electrical, mechanical and fire protection engineering for the facility rework.  In addition, our sustainability consultation of the facility during the due diligence phase provided a life cycle assessment for infrastructure systems, structural integrity and building envelope.  Pre-purchase equipment specifications were developed to allow the owner to procure long lead mechanical and electrical items, minimizing both cost and construction scheduling.
The reclaimed water service was restored for the facility to reduce operating costs and provide a redundant cooling tower make-up water source.  Morrison Hershfield provided LEED®, Green Globes, and Energy Star facilitating and utility rebate consulting.

The renovated Santa Clara Internap data center continues to perform in a manner that maximizes energy efficiency and reduces our dependence on fossil fuels and natural resources.
