Vertical Arrivals – Departures Passenger Transportation Upgrade
Vertical Arrivals – Departures Passenger Transportation Upgrade, Edmonton International, Morrison Hershfield
In an airport, escalators and elevators provide for travelers with added convenience and allow for increased efficiency in airport operations.  This project produced a detailed preliminary engineering design report for improving the central vertical transportation system at The Edmonton International Airport Air Terminal Building.

Morrison Hershfield identified architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical modifications to the existing vertical transportation systems at the airport.  A Class “B” Level cost estimate to accommodate the installation of two escalators for “down” transportation serving the Arrivals – Departures Mezzanine levels, a large capacity elevator serving the Arrivals – Departures Mezzanine levels and a new stair system between the Departures and Mezzanine levels was also produced.  Morrison Hershfield was also awarded the detailed design and contract administration component of this project.
