Total Facilities Management Program

Morrison Hershfield assisted in the identification of a Total Facilities Management Program (TFMP) in an effort to re-focus recent organizational changes to Mount Allison University (MAU) Facilities Management and their Strategic Plan for Facilities Management.  A TFMP is critical to:

  • Better manage deferred maintenance backlog
  • Establish a comprehensive preventive management program
  • Identify and prioritize capital renewals spending
  • Maximize resources through effective work order/work process management
  • Prevent any loss of students and income due to further deterioration of campus facilities

Mount Allison University (MAU) in Sackville NB consists of a 125 acre campus including 47 buildings (over 1 million gross sq ft) at an estimated value of over $100 million.   The buildings include residences, academic, administration and facility buildings (e.g., plant and services), ranging in age from 15 to over 75 years.

Morrison Hershfield applied its recognized expertise in Facilities and Asset Management to provide MAU with a Strategic Plan for a Total Facilities Management Program of the MAU campus assets and facilities.  MAU accepted this Strategic Plan for the TFMP and subsequently retained Morrison Hershfield to proceed with the TFMP software selection, installation and phased implementation process.
