Design Review and On-site Construction Review of Building Envelope for New 30 Story High Rise,Terminal City,Morrison Hershfield

Morrison Hershfield carried out the design review and on-site construction review of the building envelope for the Terminal City Club building, a new 30 storey high rise in downtown Vancouver, BC.  The building is clad with a combination of window wall, metal panel, stone panel, curtain wall, structural glazing and drained cavity stucco.   The roof membrane is liquid applied.

Morrison Hershfield was able to assist the owner in selecting appropriate building envelope assemblies for the project to ensure a low risk building envelope with maximum life span.  Our review of shop drawings assisted the owner in minimizing unknown construction details.

Morrison Hershfield’s field testing of windows and cladding systems confirmed that the as-built assemblies conformed to the specifications claimed by the manufacturers.  Our field review assisted the owner in ensuring that the installation of the building envelope assemblies was in accordance with the drawings, specifications, and good construction practice
