Sludge Line Twinning and In Plant Piping and River Crossing for a Wastewater Treatment Plant
Sludge Forcemain Twinning and In Plant Piping Morrison Hershfield
Morrison Hershfield Limited was retained by the City of Edmonton to determine, construct, and implement an optimum sludge line route from the Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Clover Bar Sewage Lagoons.

Part of the new sludge line twinning project required routing the new piping through the existing congested piping within the plant, and through a utility tunnel below the surface of the North Saskatchewan River.

Installing a new sludge pumping station was also necessary to pump the digested sludge to the Clover Bar sewage lagoons. Morrison Hershfield prepared detailed design drawings and specifications of the piping and connections within the digester squares, through the congested existing piping within the Gold Bar wastewater treatment plant tunnel system and in the underground tunnel crossing the North Saskatchewan River.
