Our environmental team designed a thermal trench system to capture stormwater run-off from a Regional Road network and to reduce the temperature of the discharge into the Rouge River, a coldwater fisheries ecosystem.

We have conducted several years of water quality monitoring to confirm that the trench, as designed, was effective at cooling the stormwater drainage which mitigated potential impacts to this sensitive ecosystem.
