Reserve Fund Study for Early 1900s Office Building, The Hudson, Morrison Hershfield

The Hudson Condominium is an early 1900s office building that was converted to loft style condominiums in 1994.  At the time of the conversion, a two-level concrete parkade was added to the complex.  The revised Alberta Condominium Property Act required that all condominium corporations complete a Reserve Fund Study to determine the replacement costs and life expectancies of the common property.  The age and history of the building placed additional demands on the reviewers when determining life expectancies and replacement costs.

Morrison Hershfield brought experience in building science and structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering to complete a review of this unique and historic building.  From the review of common property items, life expectancies and replacement costs were developed in order to complete the Reserve Fund Study.
