This Environmental Impact Statement conforms to the requirements under Official Plan Amendment 129 by providing:
- A definition of the boundaries of the environmental areas within the study area with buffers, zones of influence and potential ecological restoration areas identified
- A description of the relationship of the environmental areas to the conceptual proposal and the adjacent lands
- A description of how and where the conceptual proposal could proceed without negative impacts to the environmental areas
- A management strategy to protect and/or enhance the natural areas within the study area, including during construction
- Strategies for complying, where applicable, with any Provincial requirements for impact studies as set out in the relevant policies and guidelines
We ensured that the new library could be constructed on the proposed land base and that the facility was developed in accordance with the environmental management strategy developed by Morrison Hershfield, in order to protect and enhance natural areas in the study area.
