Nevis Power Station Redevelopment
Prospect Power Station Redevelopment
Morrison Hershfield, with Magna IV Engineering Limited acting as an electrical engineering sub-consultant, provided consulting engineering services for the design of an $8.0 M           redevelopment of the power station in Nevis.
Extensive site/civil work was involved, as well as a new 610 m2 building extension, new HVAC systems and extensive renovations.  The mechanical/electrical scope of work included two 2.5 MW generator systems, 11 kV switchgear with metering and protection system, transformers and HV/LV cabling.  The project also included interconnecting the existing transformer, MCC unit and generator with the new control system.

The new power generation facilities provided additional capacity and much greater reliability of the overall electric power system.
