Ontario Fire Code Part 4 Audit Flammable and Combustible Liquids
 

The client was provided with a timely and detailed report outlining existing conditions at each facility as it pertained to Part 4.  The report identified any existing deficiencies and outlined remedial work and upgrades necessary to comply with the requirements of the Ontario Fire Code. 

Morrison Hershfield completed Ontario Fire Code Part 4 Audits of General Motors’ major manufacturing and warehousing facilities in Ontario including:
  • Oshawa Assembly Plant,
  • Woodstock Warehousing Facilities
  • Kapuskasing Winter Testing Facilities
  • London Diesel Engine Plant
  • Windsor Transmission Plant

As part of our role, we:

  • Determined quantities and classifications of flammable and combustible liquids based on their flash points
  • Inspected how flammable and combustible liquids were stored and handled
  • Reviewed existing active and passive fire safety features
  • Reviewed ventilation, explosion venting systems, spill control, and drainage systems in the buildings
  • Reviewed architectural and mechanical drawings, particularly with respect to the type of fire separations, sprinkler systems and ventilation systems
  • Reviewed shop drawings and product information for outside storage tanks to determine, their compliance with the standards referenced in the Fire Code
  • Met with the client to discuss the findings identified within the report and answer questions the client had
