Northridge Feedermain Feasibility Study

The Northridge feedermain project is an extension of the existing water system to the northern limit of the City of Calgary AB to provide water for future development areas north of the Panorama Hills subdivision.

Phase 1 provides for the supply and installation of approximately 4490 metres of 1500mm diameter and 1650 metres of 1200mm diameter water pressure pipe. The objectives of this study were to assess the original proposed feedermain alignment, investigate alternative routes and recommend the optimal route.

Morrison Hershfield gathered information on the existing utilities, base mapping on existing developments, and the future development plans in the study area.   Several alternate routes were reviewed and a report was provided to City staff. A portion of the feedermain routing will be in developed areas and located within busy main roads.  Morrison Hershfield helped investigate a feasible route supporting the environmental and community impact requirements.

The estimated construction value was estimated at $19.5 million for Phase 1.
