This assignment involved 34 of the City’s 211 buildings, and included over 10 million sq. ft. of recreation centres, multi-use community centers, arenas, municipal office buildings, libraries, indoor pool facilities, a parks service centre, and a yard storage facility.

The building envelope components assessed included exterior walls, windows, doors, roofs, foundation walls, and slab-on-grade, while the structural components included components from footings to structural framework (beams, columns, slabs and shearwalls). 

With the information collected, a 10-year capital renewals plan was provided, along with a Facility Renewals Planning database and software program which facilitated updating, management of the information and report presentation.
