Energy Audits and Condition Surveys at 37 Schools
Energy Audits Condition Surveys Schools
Morrison Hershfield carried out energy audits and building condition assessments of 37 school buildings (including 3 high schools) to assist the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board in reducing overall utility consumption by identifying energy saving opportunities and incentives and to assist the School Board in capital planning over the next five years.

Morrison Hershfield prepared a five-year capital plan for each school building, and is implementing some of our energy and capital planning recommendations at various schools within the Board.

These include:

  • Building automation upgrades
  • Lighting upgrades
  • Boiler/mechanical upgrades
  • Cladding upgrades

The implementation of the identified retrofit strategies will lead to reductions in energy use and operating costs relating to electrical power, natural gas and equivalent water and sewer costs.   As the construction proceeds, our periodic field review will assist the Board in ensuring that the upgrades are installed in accordance with the design documents and that the Board will gain the expected energy benefits of their renewals.
