Morrison Hershfield was retained to develop an employer-based TDM Toolkit to guide the City and members of the Corporate Challenge Program in their efforts to set up commuter programs for their employees.
Morrison Hershfield developed a TDM Toolkit for employers that included the following:
- A Commuter Options Guide
Contains information on proven travel alternatives and encouragement of strategies that have been proven to be effective. The guide provides a concrete idea of the pros and cons of each, its potential effectiveness, anticipated costs, case studies and implementation considerations
- A Program Implementation Guide
Directs organizations, on a step-by-step basis, on how to create an effective commuter program. It provides information on program planning and strategy selection as well as program implementation and evaluation
- Samples and Worksheets
Includes sample employee surveys, marketing materials, checklists, application forms and agreements
The TDM Toolkit developed by Morrison Hershfield:
- Is an education tool that is transferable and easy to update to reflect growing local experience
- Offers the potential to reduce set-up costs and uncertainties associated with the implementation of an employer-based TDM program
- Provides concrete guidance to help employers put together the various TDM strategies to form a successful and an effective commuter program
The TDM Toolkit will be instrumental in encouraging employers to make the necessary commitments and take a leading role in changing travel behavior in our cities.
