City Stormwater Mangement Edmonton Morrison Hershfield
Due to limited excess capacity in the City of Edmonton existing storm sewer system, Morrison Hershfield designed a 10,300 m3 underground storage vault to retain excess runoff.

The storage vault was located beneath the roadway, and consisted of a flat plate roof system, interior columns, and a raft type of foundation system.  Construction was carried out in six different “segments”, producing a storage reservoir approximately 44m x 66m x 5m high.  A flow restriction device and a control valve system were also included in the design to control the rate of outflow to the existing storm sewer after the storm has subsided.
