Rideau Valley Conservation Centre - A Sustainable Building (And LEED Points be Damned!)
Speaker Mark Lucuik, P.Eng., LEED AP, Morrison Hershfield and Christopher Simmonds (Christopher Simmonds Architect Inc.)
Date Wednesday, June 9th 10:45-11:45
Event CaGBC 2010 National Conference
Host Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC)
Location Vancouver Convention Center, Vancouver BC

The new Rideau Valley Conservation Centre (RVCC) exceeded client expectations and incorporated an exemplary approach to sustainable design. Many of these initiatives were not rewarded with LEED® points. The presentation will include a discussion of how LEED® functioned as a tool and some of the challenges the team faced when pursuing a strong example of sustainable design and construction without an emphasis on LEED®. This building is exemplary because of its design, site restoration and water conservation.

Morrison Hershfield is proud to be a major sponsor of the CaGBC Conference since its inception.
