The topping out ceremony is set for September 21, 2011 for the Devon Tower in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. During the ceremony the final steel beam will be laid by construction workers fifty stories up and an evergreen tree will be hoisted to the tower’s highest point. The tree was planted nearby at the start of construction.
Morrison Hershfield provided building envelope services. The large 3-sided glass tower contains about 1.8 million square feet of space. A transparent wall allows passerby to see into the tower lobby.
Construction started on October 6, 2009 with site preparation and demolition. Devon Energy Corp. employees will start moving in early next year.
