Earth Day is celebrated around the world every April 22nd as people renew their commitment to building a safer, healthier and cleaner world for all of us.
This year Morrison Hershfield marks the event with the release of a Sustainability Incentive for Employees. We recognize that our potential environmental impacts extend beyond our services and operations. Our employees have sustainability interests of their own and many have modified their lifestyles and homes. If we all reduced our consumption by even a relatively small amount, we’d live in a much cleaner world. The sustainability incentive is a monetary matching program for employee purchases related to improvements affecting energy, water, ecology or nature. The incentive covers a broad range of eco-friendly purchases, including rain barrels, solar powered lights, tree plantings and transit passes.
Earth Day activities are also being planned by the Morrison Hershfield Green Teams. Activities include an interactive carpooling game and the collection of recyclables.
These developments are some of the outcomes of our Environmental and Sustainability Policy. As an engineering and management company, we recognize that we have an extraordinary opportunity to have a significant and positive impact on the environment. We have the knowledge, skill and ability to make a difference. The policy sets in place lasting practices that will ensure a better environment for all.
