Director of Sustainability Appointed
April 22, 2010

Morrison Hershfield’s ongoing commitment to the sustainability of our shared planet and carbon neutrality has been further strengthened through the creation of a dedicated new role.  Bruce Miller, P.Eng., President, Morrison Hershfield Limited, and Catherine Karakatsanis, P.Eng., Senior Vice President, Buildings and Facilities Division, are pleased to announce that Mark Lucuik, P.Eng., LEED AP, is appointed to the position of Director of Sustainability for the Division.

Mark is particularly well suited for this role having been involved in this field since the early 1990’s.  His knowledge in sustainable design and building science stems from his in-house experience, research and through active and past roles in many organizations including the Canada Green Building Council, the United States Green Building Council, the Athena Institute, Sustainable Building Canada and the International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment.

On the project side, Mark has successfully delivered LEED® durability and other green-intended facility assignments.  One of these projects is the LEED® Gold Rideau Valley Conservation Authority headquarters, a strong example of sustainability and water efficiency.  Mark acted as LEED® facilitator and building envelope specialist.

Mark understands that environmental sustainability is not only a goal, it is also a path.  We look forward to Mark leading our constant progression.  Further information on the green services offered by Morrison Hershfield can be found in the sustainability section of our web site.
