Delivering Award-Winning P3 Projects
November 23, 2011

The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) presented its 2011 Awards for Innovation and Excellence during their annual conference this week.  Morrison Hershfield participated in the delivery of two of the seven projects receiving awards this year.  The two projects are:

  • Surrey Pre-Trial Services Center (Gold Award)
  • North East Stoney Trail Highway (Award of Merit)

The Surrey Pretrial Services Center is a $90 million Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold certified correctional facility developed to help reduce overcrowding in the existing facility and to improve the correctional environment.  Morrison Hershfield provided LEED® and energy modeling services.

The North East Stoney Trail Highway is a $650.7 million ring road around the cities of Calgary and Edmonton, AB.  The highway improves access and public safety.  The P3 project cost approximately 63% of the amount typically required with traditional project delivery.  Morrison Hershfield undertook the independent design review.
