Canadian Institute of Steel Construction Ontario Steel Design Award, Honourable Mention in the Engineering Category, for the Temporary Bracing of 77 Governor's Road, Dundas, 2000

On June 1, 2000, Morrison Hershfield was awarded an Honourable Mention in the Engineering Category of the 2000 Ontario Steel Design Awards competition.

The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) recognized our engineering expertise in the innovative use of steel as a temporary x-bracing system in a reinforced concrete building. During the construction of the building it was determined that there was inadequate lateral load resistance, so Morrison Hershfield was called to develop a timely, safe and cost-effective solution. The bracing was progressively removed as permanent remedial strengthening work was completed.
